Uhrtürmchen stands in Frankfurt as a nine-metre clock tower and one of only two surviving examples in the city. The Frankfurt site is wheelchair accessible to visitors. Its setting combines a sheet-metal base decorated with coats of arms and a street lantern above.

The Ostend Verein, an association of tradespeople in a then predominantly Jewish district, erected it in 1894. The structure survived Frankfurt’s destruction during the Second World War. Over time, however, the tower deteriorated, prompting restoration supported by the city’s cultural department and Freunde Frankfurts. The tower was dismantled and restored in Thuringia before returning to its original location. It was officially inaugurated there on 26 March 2015.

A knight holding a flag crowns the lantern, giving the nine-metre structure its most distinctive detail. The landmark also serves as a meeting point for local residents and a popular tourist attraction.
