Fürstenhof stands in Frankfurt am Main’s Bahnhofsviertel as a neobaroque building with a preserved historic façade. Wheelchair users can access the building. The district developed around Frankfurt’s main station after its opening in 1888. Oskar Heußner designed the building for Swiss hotelier Wilhelm Eduard Drucker.

Construction finished in 1902, when the property opened as Hotel Fürstenhof-Esplanade. The hotel held 120 rooms. Telephones, electric clocks, double doors, and fireproof walls reflected its early modern standards. It closed in 1910 as luxury hotels nearer the station attracted more guests.

Commercial use began in 1914, while workers removed the large corner dome in 1920. World War II caused serious damage. Later, government offices occupied the repaired building. Jürgen Schneider renovated it extensively in 1986, retaining the façade, vestibule, and staircase.
