Abraham Ebe is remembered in Frankfurt through Stolpersteine, small memorial stones set into the pavement. They connect this place with a Jewish family from Warsaw and their life in Germany.

Abraham worked as a saddler and leather-goods craftsman. After moving to Germany in 1911, the family settled in Frankfurt in 1921, living on the ground floor of Eckenheimer Landstraße. His workshop stood in the same building. The children attended a nearby school and were known for their artistic talents. Nazi persecution brought a boycott of Jewish businesses in 1936 and deportation to Poland in 1938.

The family was eventually imprisoned in the Warsaw Ghetto, and their last known communication dates from August 1941. Esther, the youngest daughter, escaped to England in early 1939 and later moved to the United States. The accessible site leaves the family’s names and fate in the Frankfurt streetscape.
