Krämerbrücke is a medieval pedestrian bridge in Erfurt, crossing the Breitstrom, a branch of the Gera River. Its limestone and sandstone structure links Benediktsplatz with Wenigemarkt.

Half-timbered shops and homes line the bridge, creating one of Europe’s longest inhabited rows on a bridge. People have lived there for over five centuries. The bridge reaches one hundred twenty-five metres and rests on six visible barrel arches. Its buildings shelter shops below and homes above.

The bridge’s recorded history reaches back to thirteen twenty-five, while its houses took shape after a later fire. St Giles’ Church remains at the eastern end. Krämerbrücke also belonged to the Via Regia, a trade and pilgrimage network crossing medieval Europe. The medieval city of Erfurt grew around this important route.

Craft workshops, cafés and antique shops occupy the lower levels, while residents use the upper floors as homes. The Krämerbrücke spot is recorded as wheelchair accessible.
