Historisches Rathaus Ebern anchors the market square with a richly patterned half-timbered façade above broad stone arches. The arches belonged to a former market hall.

The seventeenth-century building combines civic administration with the public life of trade and daily meetings. Dark beams form a clear geometric pattern across the façade.

Its lighter infill makes the timber structure readable within the historic architectural ensemble around the square. Medieval fortifications still surround large parts of the historic centre.

The Grauturm, Gänseturm, Diebsturm, Storchturm, and Pfarrgartenturm preserve the defensive outline of the old town. The Grauturm rises above the nearby roofs.

The tower includes a keeper’s room and remains the strongest landmark in the historic ensemble. The parish church tower marks the centre of the arrangement.

Together, Rathaus, towers, walls, and church tower make the historic town plan visible through architecture. Stone arches recall commerce and meetings in the former market hall.

Timber framing gives the civic building a distinctive presence beside the market square. The preserved fortifications show how the settlement was enclosed, protected, and carefully watched.
