Schloss Garath stands in Düsseldorf where the Rietrather Bach and Galkhauser Bach meet the Garather Mühlenbach. The estate combines a historic park, a manor house, and a neo-baroque chapel.

Its history reaches the late thirteenth century, while the Garderode family may have occupied the site as early as the ninth. The Knights of Kalkum owned the property by the late fourteenth century. The von Velbrück family built the original castle between the sixteenth and eighteenth centuries, including its gate tower. That tower remains the only surviving part of the older castle. Nicolas de Pigage designed the eighteenth-century park, bringing the grounds into the tradition of Düsseldorf garden architecture.

Alhard von Burgsdorff commissioned the present building from Max Wöhler in 1912 and 1913. The grounds later supported the Garather Hühnerfarm and now accommodate businesses and the German Academy of Practical Management. Düsseldorf acquired the estate in 1978 for cultural use, before Shukry Na’amnieh bought it in 2022. The chapel and the surviving gate tower offer two distinct architectural traces across the property.
