Herz-Jesu-Kirche stands in Düsseldorf-Urdenbach as a three-aisled, neo-Romanesque basilica with a strong brick exterior. Visible red brick defines the walls, while plaster highlights the tower’s decorative details.

Construction began in 1893, and the choir and two nave bays hosted services by the following year. The building became a rectorate church in 1902 and a parish church in 1906. An expansion in 1914 added the four-storey bell tower, designed by Wilhelm and Paul Sültenfuß. Large round-arched windows illuminate the side aisles, while small triplet windows line the clerestory.

The Otto bell foundry cast four bronze bells in 1912, with two still hanging in the tower. A five-part bronze chime follows the “filled Salve Regina” motif, while the former Angelus bell stands beside the chancel steps as a transformation bell. Renovations in the 1960s and extensive restoration in the late 1970s preserved the structure, which belongs to the Benrath-Urdenbach parish association with St. Cäcilia.
