Stallhof stands in Dresden as part of the Residenzschloss complex, with a Renaissance courtyard shaped for courtly spectacle.\
The Johanneum, Kanzleigebäude and Langer Gang enclose this historic space.\
Paul Buchner designed the surrounding buildings with Italian architectural influences, while the Langer Gang connects Georgenbau and Johanneum.\
Its open arcade carries Tuscan columns, coats of arms and a sgraffito painting.

Construction began in 1586 under Elector Christian I as a forecourt for the electoral stables.\
Jousts, fox tossing and eighteenth-century markets once filled the courtyard.\
The site remains the oldest preserved courtly tournament ground worldwide in its original design.\
Two bronze jousting columns and a horse-washing fountain recall that ceremonial past.\
The Fürstenzug mural outside stretches across more than 23,000 Meissen porcelain tiles, portraying the Wettin dynasty.\
Air raids damaged the complex in 1945, and restoration began in 1957.\
Cultural events, including a medieval Christmas market, now bring activity back to the courtyard.
