The Eventkirche Dortmund stands in Dorstfeld, a district of Dortmund in North Rhine-Westphalia. It began as a Protestant church in Dortmund’s Dorstfeld district.

Architect Arno Eugen Fritsche designed the building, which rose between 1903 and 1905. Its brickwork follows North German Brick Gothic, with moulded bricks and coloured glazed tiles.

A tower with tall sound openings and a pointed spire marks the eastern end. The western choir ends straight, while the broad nave carries a three-part broken wooden ceiling.

The entrance portal sits beneath a blind gable on the façade. Inside, a northern gallery and traces of former wall paintings remain in the plain space.

Lightning destroyed the original spire in 1995, and repairs followed before a replacement appeared. The Wilhelm Sauer organ dates from 1904, although its later home is the Evangelical City Church in Gronau.

Four cast-steel bells from 1923 still remain in the tower. Deconsecrated in 2013, the former church now provides space for weddings and corporate functions.

Its conversion gives this Dorstfeld landmark a continuing role as an event venue.
