Klein St. Martin is a former parish church in Cologne, whose surviving tower rises within the city’s historic Rhine panorama. Only the four-storey tower remains from the church demolished around 1824. Its low Romanesque-style pyramid roof carries a weather vane showing St Martin of Tours.

The original church probably followed Cologne’s tenth-century expansion towards the Rhine, while records first mention it in the early twelfth century. That name distinguished it from nearby Groß St. Martin. Between 1460 and 1486, builders transformed the medieval structure into a five-aisled hall church with a new west tower. Johann von Langenberg completed its vaulting in 1489. Vitus ten Bendt supplied a new organ in 1554, which later moved to a church in Porz-Urbach.

Napoleonic secularization closed the parish in 1802, and structural problems led to the nave’s demolition around 1824. War damage later required the tower’s reconstruction. A small chapel entered its lower section in 1954, followed by a bronze portal and tabernacle designed by Heribert Calleen in the early 1960s. The surviving monument therefore contains a chapel beneath a rebuilt tower and a weather vane shaped as a saint.
