Lio Piccolo gathers tiny islets in Italy’s Venetian lagoon, where narrow channels divide sandbanks, fishing valleys, and cultivated fields. Paths connect the islands, and bicycles suit the quiet landscape. An asphalt road provides access, while weekends close it to motor vehicles to protect the ecosystem. From the routes, you can see Venice and the surrounding islands across the lagoon.

Piazza del Prà anchors the small village, with Casa Rossa marking a notable point along the surrounding paths. Violet artichokes and jujubes grow in nearby fields. Pintails, flamingos, shelducks, and bee-eaters inhabit the channels, while dense vegetation shelters nesting animals. Seventeenth-century Locanda alle Porte once housed the water customs office of the Venetian Republic. Mesole, Lio Maggiore, Saccagnana, and Treporti extend this lagoon landscape beyond the islets.

Local restaurants serve lagoon fish and garden vegetables, while agriturismi offer rural stays and excursions through local flora and fauna. Traditional boats also host picnics and candlelit dinners. Boat routes reveal the water from another angle, connecting the area’s natural setting with its food and history. A view across the channels can place Venice beside fields, reeds, and quiet fishing valleys.
