Museo Archeologico di Capri occupies the Quarto del Priore within the Certosa di San Giacomo on Capri, overlooking the sea. Eight rooms present Capri during the imperial age of Augustus and Tiberius.

Around 120 objects bring together marble sculptures, frescoes, ceramics, silver tableware, and architectural elements. Many came from Capri, while others arrived from Naples, Campi Flegrei, Paestum, Velia, and Ostia Antica. Three silver cups returned from the United States, alongside a Vesuvian fresco depicting a temple. The route follows imperial villas, daily life, banquets, and the Domus Augusta through objects from Roman residences. A touchscreen reveals a three-dimensional island model and twelve villas mentioned in ancient sources.

The first room pairs K. W. Diefenbach’s Scoglio delle Sirene with a ceiling projection of Capri’s wild landscape. Sea views shape nearly every room, while gardens recall the otium of imperial residences.
