Újpesti Kocszín stands in Hungary as a substantial industrial hall with five airy aisles, soaring arches, and a brick façade. Its broad interior follows the edge of the Danube.

Built in the nineteenth century by the Pest Public Road Railway Company, the depot first housed horse-drawn tram cars. The two Danube-facing aisles begin and end farther back, adapting the structure to its plot. Wooden roof beams came first, followed by a reinforced-concrete extension designed by Szilárd Zielinski in 1911. By 1932, the entire hall had been rebuilt in concrete, creating a notable technical work for its time. Nearby, Bagolyvár served as the terminal for the horse railway to Újpest.

The metro replaced the tram lines in 1982, and the tracks fell silent inside this surviving industrial landmark. A supermarket now occupies the building, while its ribs, spans, and arches still reveal the former tram depot.
