The Árpád-házi Szent Erzsébet-templom rises above its surrounding gardens with yellow pressed-brick walls and paired towers. Its neo-Gothic façade follows designs by Imre Steindl.

French Gothic inspiration meets modern construction in the church and its broad transept. A growing Catholic community selected Steindl’s design for a larger church. Between the towers, a statue of Saint Elizabeth and a rose window crown the main portal. Zsolnay ceramic frames the large rose window above it.

Inside, high arches, decorated capitals, and Adolf Götz’s wall paintings shape the restrained neo-Gothic interior. The high altar combines marble, onyx, and bronze. Gilded Hungarian saints by Lajos Lantay stand on the altar, while Miksa Róth’s stained glass brightens the sanctuary. Original bells remain within the southern tower structure.

Outside, Saint Elizabeth’s statue stands in the garden, while restoration preserves the church after wartime damage. The church remains a place for worship and quiet attention. The building joins historical style with modern construction and careful artistic craft.
