Villa Waldwiese stands in Bremen’s Burglesum district, specifically within the St. Magnus area. The villa dates from 1893. Its terracotta-red brick façade presents the Swiss chalet style through gables, projections, plasterwork, and Renaissance details. Rusticated corners frame the façade’s horizontal bands. Triangular canopies above gable windows add Italian and French Renaissance influences to the late nineteenth-century design. Original wooden trusses and tiled floors remain within the villa.

Wrought-iron balcony railings, ceiling stucco, door leaves, and stair railings also survive from the building’s earlier fabric. The merchant Fritz Dubbers commissioned Villa Waldwiese. Dorothea Klosterkemper later lived there for decades as the widow of Major General Bernhard Klosterkemper. Her former garden was later developed into surrounding residential areas. Bremen placed the villa under monument protection in 2008, while the former estate became part of Lindenberg’s residential landscape. Today, apartments and real-estate offices occupy the villa.
