Villa Klatte stands in Bremen’s Schwachhausen district, within the Bürgerpark area, as a two-storey Jugendstil residence. The architect Wilhelm Blanke designed it around 1900. Its façade presents a veranda, a loggia, bay windows, and a central gable shaped by Swiss chalet style. These elements give the house a strongly articulated outline.

Built for Jacoba Klatte, the grand bourgeois residence arranged its ground floor around an entrance hall, salon, dining room, and conservatory. The upper floor contained all the house’s bedrooms. The basement held servant quarters and storage rooms, while a Brommy Room contained parts of Admiral Karl Rudolf Brommy’s estate. His marriage connected those objects with the owner’s family.

After the Second World War, tenants included the Institute for Maritime Transport Economics and Logistics and an art gallery. Since 1978, Bremen has protected the building as a monument. In 2018, recorded use combined residential flats with a medical practice inside the protected building. Parts of Admiral Karl Rudolf Brommy’s estate once occupied one room.
