Poppes Landhaus is an estate in Bremen’s Obervieland district, built around 1770 for a merchant named Poppe. The building presents a rare example of late Rococo architecture in Bremen. Sandstone frames mark the doors and windows, while a distinctive curved staircase defines the historic estate’s interior. Living quarters occupied the ground floor, with a hall above. An English-style garden once surrounded the estate and extended towards what became the Arsten motorway feeder. The rear landscape garden later became overgrown.

During the nineteenth century, Poppes Landhaus and its garden attracted visitors as an excursion destination. The estate changed functions during the twentieth century. The Jakobi community owned it from 1928, and the house later served as a community house, kindergarten, and parsonage. The nearby St Markus Church was built by 1955. Later, the building housed Poppes Landgut, a restaurant and wine shop with rooms named for red wine, pastors, and gardens. The building now serves as a residential property. Bremen placed Poppes Landhaus under monument protection in 1973. A protected sandstone sculpture remains from the former garden. The sculpture shows three putti playing with dolphins.
