Haus Mindestroemmen stands on the high bank of the Lesum River, in Bremen’s Burglesum district. Friedrich Wellermann and Paul Frölich designed this villa in 1903. The two-storey building combines Victorian Shingle Style with a hipped roof, mansard roof, loggia, dormers, and garden-side veranda. Shingle cladding covers the villa’s upper floor. Johann Daniel Albert Kulenkampff, a Bremen merchant, commissioned the house for the Kulenkampff family. His family owned country houses around Lesum. Since 1995, Bremen monument preservation has protected the villa as a listed building. The garden was designed by landscape architect Christian Roselius. Architect Rudolph Leymann planned major renovations in 1929, preparing the house for winter living. Elisabeth Noltenius, a painter and graphic artist, later lived in the house. The villa serves residential purposes in Bremen’s Burglesum district. Otto and Marianne Willich later used the house as a summer residence before their family lived there year-round. The origin of its name remains unclear. Nearby, Lesmonastraße contains Villa Trost and Haus Lichtenegg, both listed buildings. Wellermann and Frölich also designed Haus Schwalbenklippe and Haus Stromwinkel for the Kulenkampff family.
