The Architektenkammer der freien Hansestadt Bremen / Ingenieurkammer der freien Hansestadt Bremen occupies a historic building in Bremen’s old town. Built around 1625, the two-storey house has a gabled roof and a Renaissance façade. Continuous horizontal cornices frame sandstone window jambs, while semicircular arches rise above the lintels. Brick walls use blocks measuring 28 by 14.6 by 9.2 centimetres.

A richly carved sandstone portal marks the entrance, with angel and lion heads beneath an inscription. Baroque sandstone bay windows appeared on both sides in the early eighteenth century. By 1880, residents and businesses included a wine and beer hall, before the building became a warehouse and later part of Bremen’s electricity works. Interior renovations by architect Gert Schulze prepared it for the architects’ chamber from 1985, while monument protection has covered the building since 1917. The chambers now support architects and engineers through seminars, workshops and regional cooperation on professional education.
