The Kloster in Blaubeuren, also called Blaubeuren Abbey, traces its history to 1085. It began as a Benedictine monastery in Blaubeuren. Counts of Tübingen founded it during the Investiture Controversy, and its first monks came from Hirsau Abbey. The complex keeps a late Gothic appearance. Builders reshaped the abbey between 1466 and 1510, leaving a high altar completed in 1493. Jörg Syrlin the Younger created the choir stalls. The site also connects with Abbot Fabri and the founding of the University of Tübingen in 1477. The Reformation later made this monastery Protestant.

In 1817, the former abbey became a Protestant seminary with a boarding school attached. The seminary continues its educational role in Blaubeuren. Rib-vaulted cloisters surround a garden, while the Brunnenkapelle, Petrikapelle, and Urbanskapelle mark the complex. A medieval bathhouse remains within the site. The sacristy carries floral ceiling paintings, and a herb garden occupies the cloister courtyard. These details preserve monastic life through stone, wood, painted ceilings, and cultivated plants.
