The HU-Musik-und-Medienwissenschaft is a Humboldt University institute in Berlin, joining musicology and media studies within one academic setting. The institute began at Humboldt University in 2009.

Its programmes include bachelor’s and master’s degrees in musicology, plus a master’s degree and minor in media studies. Students and researchers work across buildings at Kupfergraben and Georgenstraße, including the historic Pergamon Palais.

Historical fabric meets contemporary academic use across these buildings. A media library, musicology branch library, and sound and media technology workspace support study and experimentation. Practical work continues in a media theater, while an AV editing studio with recording room and signal lab extend the setting into production.
