Haus 2 stands within Holzmarkt 25 in Berlin as a mixed-use building shaped by timber construction. Its bright red facade marks the building.

Completed in 2023, Haus 2 combines local businesses with a concert hall and other creative spaces nearby. A bakery, tattoo studio, and photo studio occupy spaces there.

Three timber systems organise the architecture, with mass-timber walls, timber box slabs, and timber-frame exterior walls. The designers are Moojin Park and Benjamin Scheerbarth.

The building uses European-sourced, FSC-certified timber that supports low emission intensity and high recyclability. Its timber construction allows the building to be disassembled and reused.

Haus 2 shares an existing basement and stairwell, connecting its design with structures already present at Holzmarkt 25. This approach limits additional construction work on the site.

The facade and varied timber systems give Haus 2 an architectural language beyond standard prefabricated angular forms. Red timber defines the building’s appearance from nearby spaces.

The former lumber port now forms a cultural setting for Haus 2 and its neighbouring creative venues.
