Admiralspalast stands in Berlin’s Mitte district as a theatre with roots reaching back to 1910. Its original leisure complex included a skating rink, public baths, bowling alleys, a café, and a cinema open day and night.

After the First World War, the venue turned towards revue, beginning with Walter Kollo’s Drunter und drüber, before becoming known for operettas. Minimal wartime damage helped preserve this pre-Second World War variety theatre, which housed the Berlin State Opera until 1955. The building holds 1,756 seats and became a protected cultural landmark in 2002.

Renovation completed in 2006 restored the theatre for concerts, plays, and other performances. Its history also includes the merger of the Social Democratic Party and Communist Party in the Soviet occupation zone.
