Xhamia e Madhe e Durrësit, also known as the Grand Mosque of Durrës or New Mosque, stands in Durrës, Albania, on the site of an earlier Ottoman mosque.

Construction began in 1931. Italian architects shaped its European-style design, combining Islamic traditions with simple forms and columns associated with Durrës. Its exterior is white and yellow. Doric concrete columns, stone floors, wooden windows, brick, and a dome made with wood and lead define the structure. Pointed arches mark the windows. The main doors are wooden, with steel grilles above them, while the interior remains calm and lightly decorated.

The minaret was removed during communist rule. The mosque closed in 1967, became a youth centre, suffered earthquake damage in 1979, and reopened for worship in 1993. Its history includes closure, repurposing, damage, and renewal. Prayer halls, a women’s area, a classroom, and the main hall support worship, teaching, consultations, and nikah ceremonies. The mosque serves Durrës’s Muslim community. Nearby landmarks include the Durrës Amphitheatre, city hall, Aleksandër Moisiu Theatre, and archaeological museum.
