Palauet Albéniz stands on Montjuïc in Barcelona as a neoclassical palace built for the 1929 International Exposition. Brick, stone and slate roofs give the Bourbon-inspired building a formal outline. Its Joan Maragall gardens surround it with ponds, flowerbeds, fountains, sculptures, pergolas and terraces. Three garden areas combine Mediterranean planting with later French-style design.

Juan Moya Idígoras designed the original palace, which opened in October 1929 for royal functions and distinguished guests. After the exposition, a planned music museum never opened. An Isaac Albéniz bust instead gave the palace its present name. From the mid-1960s to 1970, two wings changed its square plan into a T-shaped residence. Those additions created the gala dining room and private rooms. Salvador Dalí painted the entrance dome, while Carlos Muñoz de Pablos designed another in stained glass.

Inside, Goya-inspired tapestries, Roman busts, Italian marble and historic Catalan artworks mark the ceremonial rooms. The Golden Room combines agate-coloured marble with gold details. The gardens also include the northern peristyle courtyard and Santa Madrona chapel.
