Mas Guinardó is a traditional Catalan farmhouse on a small rise in Barcelona’s Guinardó neighbourhood. Its position above neighbouring buildings brings rectangular walls, covered galleries, balconies, and roof balustrades into view. The main façade pairs two larger iron-railed balconies with four smaller ones and floral rooftop vases.

Its strategic position made the farmhouse a lookout directing operations during Barcelona’s siege in 1713 and 1714. Legends connect the place with bandit Perot Rocaguinarda and Joan Josep d’Àustria. Salvador Riera i Giralt bought it in 1894, before Pere Bosch’s 1897 urbanisation project reshaped the area. In 1906, the farmhouse became headquarters for Guinardó’s owners and neighbours association, while its façade gained modernist stucco. Barcelona’s city council acquired and restored it in the late 1980s.

Since 2011, Casal d’Entitats Mas Guinardó has hosted courses, workshops, exhibitions, and community activities. The centre gives local associations rooms, materials, advice, and access to urban-garden projects. Theatre, digital-skills sessions, and commemorations bring different generations together inside the restored building. Directly outside, a community sports court anchors the farmhouse within everyday neighbourhood life.
