Casa Sayrach stands in Barcelona as a late Modernisme residence, its two façades meeting around a central tower. The Catalan style turns Art Nouveau into flowing, sculptural forms. Manuel Sayrach i Carreras designed it for his family, while Gabriel Borrell i Cardona signed the official plans. Locals call it casa de la nata for its white roof and casa dels ossos for its columns.

The irregular polygonal plan uses light wells and covered galleries to bring daylight and ventilation into the rooms. Rounded arches open onto balconies across the angled façades. A central tower rises above them, carrying three arched windows on each level and a dome over a small temple-like structure. Smaller cupolas and trilobed roof openings continue the sculptural outline. Inside, the vestibule joins plaster and stone reliefs with waves, jellyfish, shells, and a whale-skeleton arch.

Doctor Miquel Sayrach i Carabassa commissioned construction, which ran from 1915 to 1918 for his family. The nearby Casa Montserrat honours his wife through Manuel’s related design. Barcelona’s city council awarded it the annual artistic-building competition in 1917. The building remains residential and is listed as a cultural asset of national interest in Catalonia. An original wooden lift stands within a matching iron ornamental frame.
