Casa Padellàs is a Gothic palace in Barcelona’s Plaça del Rei, within the city’s Gothic Quarter. Its plain façade carries Renaissance motifs below and later windows above. Inside, a central courtyard brings together Gothic arches, a well, and a staircase curling towards the main floor.

Built between 1497 and 1515, the palace first stood at the junction of Carrer Mercaders and Carrer Tarascó. The city moved it stone by stone in 1931. Since 1943, the building has housed MUHBA, Barcelona’s City History Museum. Barcelona Flashback traces the city from Roman Barcino through self-government, monarchy, industrial growth, and the Spanish Civil War. Archaeological remains beneath the square include streets from Roman Barcelona.

Artefacts, old maps, paintings, and a floor designed as an aerial view present the city’s changing form. The courtyard’s well remains the simplest detail to notice.
