The Leopoldsäule stands in Frankfurt am Main-Seckbach, near the Berger Warte, as a monument to Emperor Leopold II. Its classical form carries sculptural details, a Latin inscription, and a shield explaining its historical significance.

The monument honours Emperor Leopold II, whose election and coronation brought the column into being in 1790. He was the penultimate emperor of the Holy Roman Empire. His coronation included Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and the future Prince Metternich among its notable attendees. Landgrave Wilhelm IX of Hesse-Kassel initiated the project. Six thousand troops camped at the Wartfeld, near the Berger Warte, to secure the election against French forces. The ground also saw the first Battle of Bergen in 1759.

Construction of a substation required relocation in 1962, placing the monument at the site’s northwest corner. Paths and information signs reshaped the surrounding area in 1999. Protected trees and shrubs form habitat for various bird species within a twenty-nine-hectare EU Fauna-Flora-Habitat along the northern Berger Ridge.
