Reinaert stands in Amsterdam Oud-West as a post-war building designed by Evers and Sarlemijn. Its Bossche School architecture uses simple geometric forms and a calm, ordered appearance.

Built between 1959 and 1960, the building opened as the Sint Hubertusschool, a vocational school for cooks, waiters, bakers and pastry chefs. Classrooms opened onto a central hall, creating the distinctive layout known as a halschool. Bakery and pastry training continued here until 2015, followed by other uses including a shelter for homeless people. The building became a municipal monument in 2009 and also appears on the Top One Hundred list of post-war heritage.

Near the main entrance, a nearly two-dimensional Saint Hubertus sculpture by Niel Steenbergen stands on a round column. Its medal-like form recalls the school’s original hospitality and bakery training, while nearby street art includes Frankey’s chalk transformation of a concrete pole into a traffic pawn.
